My house project got delayed as did this. But now I'm almost there. Tree work on my property is done with about 2 1/2 acres clear cut. Just finishing up this Hoe so I can get out there and rip my stumps out..

Also added a new toy to the stable!

Fwiw and consideration for next time in similar applications. there is Chockfast Orange. It could have saved you a lot of time amd sweat. Simply mix and pour in-situ. This is used in ships rudder post bearings that take a worse beating than any excavator or backhoe could ever imagine.

Interesting thought... Have you ever used it? Luckily I was able to find a local parts machine that was in reasonable condition, and cut off that mount from the parts machine, and the mount from my machine and welded on the new one. That's what I love about forums, its the cross technical knowledge. Some stuff works, and some doesn't BUT thats all worthwhile knowledge.

That has to be the worst bearing mount I have ever seen that remained intact. Yes, I have used Chockfast in the same and similar applications, plus chocking heavy marine diesels, reduction gears, shaft bearing mounts, and skeg rudder bearings. It is far cheaper and faster than milling steel shim parts, and withstands enormous forces and vibrations. There are also several brands on the market that would also be suitable such as Devcon | acrylic, acrylic adhesive, adhesive, adhesive and sealants, adhesive applicator

One of Chockfast's claims to fame was that it was used extensively in the re-powering of the QE2: The Repowering Of QE2

All back together and working nicely! A little slop, but definitly homeowner worthy. The swing to boom pins still need to be replaced, that should tighten it up a bit.
