Took starter & solenoid to starter shop and got good news .............everything OK. Then I ran a wire from solenoid to a push button switch then connected switch to battery post on starter. Now I
turn key switch on and push the push button switch to start the engine. Solenoid gets a full 12 volts and all other switches are bypassed. It works great!
