Trying to help a neighbor with a John Deere 4410. The tractor has been sorely neglected in the maintenance department, but we are going through that and getting it done.

I can't find anything on how to adjust the brakes, which seem to be dragging. Any advice?

Thanks,

Dave

I can't help you. I have a 4310 and would also like to know how to do this adjustment

They seem to stick where the brake rod goes in to the axle housing. Use a pry bar to work the lever back and spray some lube where the rod goes in the housing. There is also grease zerk on the pivot from the pedal.

There is a turnbuckle on the brake actuating rod that is used to adjust the brakes. If that does not do the trick you may need to remove the final drives to access the brake discs and plates. You say it has been neglected...the internal parts may be bound up and the brake rod adjustment may have no effect.
