John Deere 5075e left brake "hanging up"

Do you know if it was a design issue, or a run of poor quality springs?
Repairing the brakes and installing new defective springs would be aggravating.
I would hope that JD has discovered the problem and fixed it by now.

IIRC earlier 5000 series models had a history of brake return spring failure.
