I recently got a new "John deere 5100gf" after 14 years of service with a John deere 5525n. So i thought I'd do a quick review and comparison.
First thing is why the quotation marks? The 5100gf is made in Italy by Carraro and has a Fiat engine, so it's hardly a Deere.
The GF is rated 10 more horsepower and it is definitely noticeable and feels like more. I'm sinking my chisel plow deeper than ever before. I think it has 15itres per minute hydraulic flow but because it has 3 pumps the hydraulics are very powerful. With a mulcher on the back and hydraulic sweeper on the front there is no issue with the sweeper stopping.
Even though the GF cabin is wider it is less comfortable than the 5525n, mainly due to the battery being behind the seat. Both tractors have 24 speed gear boxes but the GF isn't as smooth as the 5525n, especially when using the splitter.
Unfortunately John deere don't make anything spec wise as good as the GF, so although it isn't a Deere, I've had a good run with the deere dealership so that's why i stuck with them.
I did look at a deutz fahr and kubota but 1 has dealership issues and the other has issues of not getting what you pay for.
Anyway, that's my quick review/comparison.
Cheers
