John Deere 5103 5003 Series #JohnDeere farm solutions

Thanks for the review. You don't see many reviews of simple tractors like your open station 2WD unit with a dry clutch transmission, most people apparently think they are impossibly hard to operate, intolerably uncomfortable, or nearly useless, but that is far from the truth. Deere has been making tractors very similar to this unit for almost three decades now and it's a solid design.

I almost bought one of these series. Simple and basic. Indian built where that size of tractor was still considered big enough to farm full time with. Ended up with a nicer equipped higher HP orange one for less money.

Think I still have all the sales literature for every generation of them up to them ruining after the Tier II versions with flat tops.

It feels familiar and rugged. Too many new tractors have so many frills that add cost and points of failure. Going from a Farmall M to this was like dying and going to Heaven. Lol
