I am currently looking at a new JD 5425 with a cab and self level loader with many options. Can someone help me with comparable models in Kubota, NH, Massey. I have been quoted $47,200 for the JD. Your thoughts. I am located in New Hampshire. Thanks for your insight.

Price is unfortunately in the ballpark. Comparable Kubota would be an M8540 cab, which is a nice tractor too, though the JD has a few more nifty items. The M8540 would probably be several $1000 less, if you don't need the extra nice features on the JD. With NH I think it would be a TN85 (?) - I haven't looked at NH that big.

I would look at a JD 5603, the new model. Fewer fancy extras than 5x25 models, but as many or more as the Kubota M8540, and would be less $$ despite being more hp.

I'd be test driving a 5603 cab and really comparing. It is more powerful and thousands less. The 5425 has a few more nicetys.

Local NH dealer is advertising the TD80D, 62 PTO HP, 4wd, cab, air, 12x12 mechanical shuttle transmission for $31,000. It is a "value" tractor similar to the Deere 5x03 series.

The NH equivalent would be the TL and the MF I think would be the 5400 series. You might also want to look at the next line down which would be the TN and 3600 series respectively. Both are really capable machines. What are you planning to use it for? Also it would be unwise to compare youre prices w/ most anywhere else as theyll be somewhat higher.

Does your screen name mean youre in the N country?

I've always really liked the 25 series from JD. I think you can't go wrong. You will probably find that the green paint will cost you a few thousand more than orange or red. Another way to check price is to use their online configurator which will give you MSRP. You can then expect to get 10% off that.

I have a 5525 cab with the power reverser. I love this tractor. I have had it for 2 years with bascially no problems. The tractor was around $41K. I added a 542SL loader a yr later for around $10K. One of the best things on te 25 series is the 3rd valve on the front end loader - man it is slick.

The power reverser rocks also.

I hate making the payment, but when I use my 5525 - it does not seem so bad.
