John Deere 6210 wont crank on starter

hi im at my wits end ! i have a 2001 John Deere 6210 that wont crank when keyed all lights fire up relays fire up and click when key switched to start. there is no clicking at the starter motor. if you cross the solenoid on starter it starts then wont move forwards or backwards. i suspected the neutral switch on bottom of gearbox so changed it and its still dead off the key can anyone help ! When did this begin? Were there any other problems just before the problem began?

hi thanks for reply yes there was something strange happen but not sure what i think i put the left hand reverser to neutral and let foot off clutch an it jumped forward so stopped engine then wouldnt start since except if you cross solenoid on starter .

Do you have an electrical schematic? It sounds like it might be a relay in the starting system.

no i dont have one but in the fuse box all relays on key one and starting relay key 2 are working .

Open station or cab?

Transmission?

You mentioned left hand reverser. Is it mechanical or electronic control lever?

Have you checked starter solenoid? Mounted on engine for cab, or inside cowl of open station (reason I asked first question)

hi cab not open station its electronic left hand reverse and no i havnt checked the solenoid on the side of engine but why would that stop the movement of tractor when you cross starter solenoid to get engine going ? many thanks .

Getting the engine to start was my first concern. Then deal with why it does not move. It's possible that solenoid also powers electronics for the transmission???

You may have a hydraulic problem as well. What's the condition/level of transmission fluid?
Are all the fuses ok?
Might be a stuck/non working solenoid.
