That's a Yanmar engine isn't it? I sort of remember that size Yanmar used a 190 degree thermostat.
I'm not sure I've ever seen anything under a 180 degree thermostat.
Anyway, with the JD 650 - or any of the early Yanmar built JDs - you will get a lot more info if you drop down to the Yanmar forum below here and ask there.

180 degree thermostat for X595
The parts diagram show the thermostat as "CH15536 Thermostat - THERMOSTAT (71 DEG. C)", which is a 160 degree F. thermostat. For various reasons I would like to put in a 180 degree F. thermostat. Does any know of a part number ... John Deere or otherwise ... that will work? Thanks, Arvid

Bring your old thermostat to your local parts store & try to match it up with one that’s close enough that you could modify size wise to fit.
I did that with my Ford 1720 & installed a 190 degree thermostat.
I had to reduce the OD a bit for it to fit. It’s been in there for 10+ years no issues.
