John Deere 755 compact sluggish hydraulics

Hi, we have a John Deere 755 compact and the hydraulics have become very slow latley.

The tractor has had a recent service by me and I replaced the transmission oil canister filter and also cleaned out the screen at the rear.

The oil is new and up to the mark but the steering and loader are slow and sluggish especially when cold on first start up. Running at 2500 rpm for 15 minutes makes things a lot better but it is still not as good as it used to be.

The hydraulics are also noisy when operated as if air is getting into the system but I have checked hoses on the suction side and all seem secure and ok.

Any ideas please?

Hi Nigel,

Welcome to our site, were the hydraulics working good before you serviced your tractor ? Also , according to (tractor data) your machine is hydrostacic correct?

If you look on this site you will find a John Deere section, there you will find some real pro's who can give you some good advice.
I noticed that no one had responded to your question and didn't want't you to think no one cares. This is why I feel you will get your answer.

Total flow: 5.6 gpm [21.2 lpm]

It is hard to see a suction leak.

Look in the tank and see if there are bubbles.

Some people have put grease all over the suction line from the tank to the pump input.

If you have a hyd gage, install it in a tee in the loader IN port and see if you have relief pressure.

Have you operated all the cyl's enough to purge any air that may be in the hyd system?
