Although I haven’t seen one yet in person, I’ve got my eye on the new 835M SxS. Anyone have any input on them? I currently have a Polaris General and while it’s been a good machine, I really would like to have a full cab with heat and A/C as well as a power dump bed.

If anyone would like to share any info on the JD, I’d appreciate it.

We'll I have an 865r. not much different than an M HVAC models. AC works great. I like the diesel--allot. It wouldn't be as fast as the 835 of course, but its got all the power I need to cruise around at 20-30 mph.
The cabs are nice and quiet. the bench seat really will seat 3 adults. It is nice to get in and out of.
I really like it--they are a bit pricey, but WTF.

Thanks for the reply. I considered the diesel version, but our property is very hilly and I felt like the gas version would suit me better.

Since we get a lot of rain here, I am hoping that the cab fitment is good and will keep the water out.

My dealer just called and said they are bringing one into their store tomorrow for a test drive. I hope it’s all I want it to be. I considered a Polaris Ranger, but I always seem to have issues with every Polaris I own.

The cab is pressurized,so you don’t get any dust to speak of coming in, but I wish the door gaskets were a little better of a seal against water.
My dealer did get them to seal, and after fiddling with them quite a bit, they passed a garden hose test. I think in a driving rain going 45 mph, you would still end up with a little water coming in. The whole thing is designed to drain though.
I’m pretty happy with the seal now, but you should really pay attention to the upper door seals when you are shopping.
I had a hard time with the gas vs diesel decision. In the end, I just felt more comfortable with a Yanmar.

Thanks for the tip on the door seals, I’ll definitely look over those.

Quick morning update:

Made a deal on the 835M. Really nice machine. I’ll post pics and give feedback once I take delivery.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the end price?

Also, are the cab doors removable?

I paid $24K as configured. Options added from base were F/R worklights, Bighorn tires w alloy wheels, bumpers F/R, receiver mounted winch F/R, power dump bed, first year servicing, and extra belt.

The doors would not be easily removed, they are heavy. The roll down windows are huge so at least for me, I'd have no reason to take the doors off.

I should add, this is the HVAC model, so it has A/C, heat, defrost.

Thank you very much! $24K is about the going rate here in Vermont too
I really like the extra storage space of the newer Gators...also, the new cab which would be very handy for our frigid Vermont winters. However, I do like an open machine for summers.
