A little late to this discussion but the first thing to check on any type oil leak is your vents. In the case of a hydraulic leak on the 855 the vent is a curved tube beside the fill hole right behind the seat. It has an 1/8 pipe thread so you can grab it with a pair of pliers and unscrew it. Mine has the auxiliary hydraulics so I had to use a small screw driver and bend it up just a little to clear that while unscrewing. If you have this be careful to bend it only the amount needed and don't break it off at the threads. If it were to break you should be able to get the threads out with an extractor.
Mine was hissing at the speed input shaft after running and getting things hot but not leaking oil out yet. My vent tube was totally clogged. I had to dig with a wire and spray in both ends with brake cleaner till I got it opened up and cleaned out. I may replace the tube with a hose barb fitting and put a small engine fuel filter on it one day.
Have seen similar problems on other machines. Had the axle vent on my Mustang stick shut and the same thing happened on a Z06 Corvette I had. Both caused axle seal leaks that went away after fixing the vents. Those both had a rubber disc with a spring on top so they should function like a check valve but the rubber would stick to the seat and fail to open under pressure.
