John Deere B price question

Thanks for the replies. I certainly understand the economics are not very favorable when it comes to restoring these tractors. I just finished restoring a John Deere M that had sat in a field for 15 years. I will never get the money back out of it, but it was a fun project and I enjoy doing all of the work. As far as I am concerned it is nothing more than a hobby, and the tractor would likely just be used for pulling trailers. The lack of a 3 point hitch is the only real downside.

As long as that B has a rockshaft, you can rig up a 3pt hitch pretty easily. Or purchase the parts here

If you have the money just go for it, or throw him a $700-800 offer. I love the old equipment and its sad to see so much of it having been cut up for scrap. I would like to find a 730 JD that I could purchase someday. My Dad had one when I was just a kid, but these run for a fair bit more money that a B will. It would just be something that I play around with a few times a year so its not high priority yet. I did put into use an old Gleaner-Baldwin C combine this past year. It was fun to hear her thrash again. Until it broke down that is.

I just bought one to hobby restore,, but, I selected one with:
3 point hitch,
a turbo,
and, only 3 years old

It was a little more up front cost,, but, not much,,,
