I just got a call from a man that called John Deere for a head gasket on an 850. They told him they didn't have any parts for it, to call a Yanmar dealer. That is a new twist to the parts situation.
( Yanmar stopped selling to JD about 6 - 8 months ago, I don't know why. I have had a lot JD dealers contact me about parts for John Deere Tractors.
Could this be a sign that Yanmar is going to re-enter the US market? First they began aggressively shutting down eBay auctions and now we learn they know longer supply JD with parts. Seems crazy to me that they would shut off that JD cash flow unless they were planning to compete with them?
Rob I've asked that question before. Some time ago, some Yanmar crawler tractors were spotted in an orchard or vineyard on some test trials. Yanmar already sells industrial/marine engines over here. They sell excavators and I just noticed a new ad the other day for a Yanmar Loader Backhoe selling here in the US.
The compact market has exploded here in the US the last several years. They have a good name, a great product....... and it looks like their no-compete agreement with JD is over /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
my auction for a YM2301 was shut down Saturday. Ebay cited a VERO clause. Something about it may be illegal to import them into the US. Oh well , sold it Saturday.
How true Superglide.
In December I had about 10 calls from JD Critical Parts in Milan, IL(Their main US parts wharehouse) looking for Yanmar parts. 80% of the parts were available from Yanmar . but JD said they couldn't get them. I wondered what going on. Yanmar signed an agreement with JD in the spring of 2004 to supply transmission/axles/rearends. I think this may have been for the Gators.
