Quick Hitches John Deere iMatch Quick Hitch with JD Ballast Box + Extension Question

I got mine the other day. It came with 1 set of bushings. TSC had the same ones but I can't put in the retaining clips on the ballast box. I'm assuming that the clips are needed, Friction wouldn't be enough to hold the bushings on the implement. ?~?~?
