I went with an Interstate as well this year, pleased with it.My battery sit's in front of the radiator as well on the 5303, never had a problem with leaks using sealed batteries.

Years ago, most of us in the 4310 club put in Optima batteries. They are pricey but last many years. They don't ruin your $300 radiator either.

$300 for radiator sounds cheap. JD wants $900 for a new starter for my 4700 (they are available on Amazon for $100 which also sounds suspicious.) 2) I have had corrosion problems in the battery compartment which also sits in front of radiator. I got sick of brushing and repainting, and finally made a crude rubber cup for the battery to sit in out of old inner tube, which has greatly cut down on corrosion problem.
