John Deere LX 176 problems

I am repairing a basket case for a friend LX 176 I replaced a blown motor with a 20.5 briggs I teck I had laying around. I cannot get the PTO and the drive pulley to hook up right. How long is the stock shaft on the engine that is suppose to go in the mower? I don't even know what motor is suppose to be in it. The motor I have has 3 and 3/16th crank shaft to work with.

It's originally supposed to be a Kawasaki, I think 13 or 13.5 HP originally. Mother-in-law had one 'til the transaxle took a crap.
