For the last 8-10 years a friend has been talking about his JD M that his father bought new. I think he has been holding out for his son or grandchildren to take interest. He has come to the conclusion they are not interested at all. Ran in to him yesterday and he said "lets ride down here and see it." He did not have a key to unlock the barn door/gate but I think I have enough idea for preliminary.
Been in a shed for 12-15 years...was backed in and parked. Just before parking it had new rubber all around, new radiator, and a "motor rebuild". It has definitely been worked hard since '48. Currently all I see is a Woods belly mower mounted on it and a pair of rear wheel weights. He claims a draw bar is there too.
I finally asked him what he wanted for it and he opened at $2500. I told him I would research and let him know.
Way I see it, tires are flat and questionable. Has a GM alternator on it.. and a non running tractor is a non running tractor. My gut says $1,000-1,200.
It will not be a flipper tractor but I need another project like a hole in my head. Am I way off base or is he?
