Buying Advice John Deere model B

Just got my local classified and found a john deere model b (1939) offered for $450. My question; I need something to work a new garden, and cut hay old school style. Also will this power a square bailer? I am kinda new to farming but am quite mechanically inclined. This tractor is only a starter tractor, might maybe some day become a mower or something. I do not know all the details yet, just hunting info. By the way, I am a newbie but you all sound pretty cool!

For cutting hay, yes. I think bailing takes more HP...

Thanks for the link and the info, Teg. Finally got a hold of the guy and he sold it a week ago. Still kinda interested in what the tractor was capable of, though.
