JD don't have Dealers anymore, they have Franchises. No more single dealerships.

There are 3 dealers within 20 miles of me. One of them is part of a multi store chain. The other 2 are single locations. Expanding out to 45 miles, there are 16 dealers. One of the dealers has 8 of those locations, another has 2 locations, the remaining 6 are single locations. The one that has 8 locations is the dealer that I deal with. I dealt with them before they consolidated. It is still the same people running them, they just became partners in a bigger company. I think the business model is better than some of the other brands who's dealers are going out of business left and right.
I much prefer a healthy, thriving dealer with service trucks, well trained mechanics, and a good parts inventory.
That's part of what your paying for with JD. There is more to a company than low priced CUTs.

What's your problem? Enjoy your tractor. I'll enjoy mine. My Dealer been selling Tractors since 1928. No need to keep beating that drum.

Easy killer...I was just making a point that there are still many single dealer out there, and that there are benifits to the multi store location model.

That great in NY but it ain't like that here. You can't go price checking if there owned by the same people.

I believe my local JD dealer (who no one around here seems to like because they come off as unfriendly and arrogant) is a standalone dealer. Greenia's JD.

There are a few independents around here to, but very few as the big franchises are absorbing them. I am walking distance to my local franchise dealer and there are no less than 4 in a 25 mile radius, the closest independent is about 40 miles away.

It's probably not a good situation in NY either...I'm in Minnesota.
