Dan, there are actually at least two sizes of the three legged wrenches, but just one of them fits everything I own, pickup, tractor, car, etc. and will probably fit everything you own, (unless you have an 18-wheeler or some really big construction equipment/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif).

I found the rockshaft filter online since my manual don't have it (thanks hoghead). Looks like you can make a computer do any thing you want! I want to print to rockshaft filter part so I can put it in my paper back manual.
A- how can this be done
B-it is a major chore just to turn this thing on, so keep it simple

First, I’m still learning myself.
{basically it's all copy and paste and using both Right and Left mouse buttons}

Second, there are multiple ways to achieve the same thing. Here’s a couple of methods I use…

1. Have manual page on screen that you want.
2. Using Microsoft Internet Explorer- Click on top pull-down Edit button
3. Click on Select All button
4. click on Copy
5. Have some word processing type program loaded on your Task Bar on the bottom of the Windows screen
6. Open up the word processing program with a blank page, Right mouse click, a window opens up, Click Paste.
7. Depending on the speed of your computer, in a few seconds you’ll have that page inserted in your word processor document.
8. Now you can erase, move, change the page to your liking, save it for future reference, click print for your copy.

1.Another down and dirty quick method to just pick and copy selected items on the screen
2.Left mouse click on the items/sentences/words/or pictures you want….while keeping the left mouse button still depressed…drag the mouse over the words/items you want… notice as your dragging the mouse …it becomes “inverse video”…when your happy with what you want…stop movement of the mouse, release the left mouse button and click on the right mouse button, a menu pops up, select Copy… now same thing have your word processor opened and Paste within the word processor and now you can manipulate it for further refinements.

You have to experiment… move the mouse in the middle of the screen, click on the Right mouse button, a menu pops up…, Move the mouse to the bottom of the screen where all the icons and clock are located, now click the Right mouse button, a different menu pops up.. try this “Right mouse button click" in different programs and different area’s of the screen… you have many different menu’s opening up for shortcuts you can use.
Good luck!

I DID IT -I DID IT- Anit forsure how but I did it. I even took my rockshaft filter out and guess what-- there was no screen to be found, he is going to check into it. Well to my suprise the tranny screen just had alittle metal shaveings on it, not the amout I was expecting. I don't think it would have half filled a small thumble. Well any way I'm caught up with my service for a while.
Thanks to all!!!

Bird,

I could not find the three legged wrench. I'm pretty sure I have seen them but the parts store that was easiest to get to on Friday stinketh..... I don't know why I go there they seldom have what I need. But they did have a wrench that I bought. And it kinda worked. Just slow.

Its a piece of bar metal about 4 inches long with a slot in one end. In the slot they have a loop of nylon webbing that can handle filters up to 6 or so inches. The other end of the bar fits over a 1/2 socket wrench. One of the nice things about this wrench is that in can handle the range of filters I have to work with AND it wraps up into a very small package. I pretty much work out a bed box in the truck so something that is small and compact helps...

The thing works its just slow. It has to be wound up tight and then it can just barely move the filter. But it got the factor filter off the tractor which is what needed to get done.....

I'll continue to look for the three legged wrench and see how big/small they are....

Thanks...
Dan

Dan,

If all else fails get the big chanellock pliers out! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Sometimes it seems like there are more styles of filter wrenches than you know what do with. I got a cam type filter wrench at Sears. Good quality. The more you turn it the tighter it grabs.

Did you get any mirrors on your tractor? Take a look at the pic to see what I did on mine. Works out good for backing up and watchin out when your along the roadside. Real handy, just like the cup holder.

DFB,

There are channellock pliers big enough to fit around a tranny filter! Yikes! Now that is a pair of pliers! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Would I have to get a new tool box to carry the thing? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Ohhh, I like that mirror. I have been trying to figure out how to get some rear views on the tractor but short of a canopy I could not come up with a good idea...... Is the mirror stuck on with double sided tape? I may have to stop at the parts store, not the one I mentioned earlier, and get some of those mirrors....

Thanks for the mirror idea. I really need the mirrors when I'm clearing land.
