This poor thread has gone round robin twice with the same posts being made over since page two..
There is some surface tension going on here, I'm talking physics,, not people... Some of the later consumer decks are suffering from high levels of this tension..
Out of 4 cutting machines I own,, only one is suffering from this issue,,, It's a deere GT245.. It cuts smooth as silk, but I notice the clippings are fine and small... Over cut so to speak... My other machines cut it and spit out larger clippings... I.e. I cut 2 inches off,,, the clippings are 2 inches long...
As you might expect, these machines do not clog.. My over cutting 245 does so because of triple or quad triple cutting releasing inherent moisture and small particle clippings causing a pancake batter situation, thus the caking and clogging...
There is no repair for this designed condition... I don't believe in anything deere, but you gotta give the kids credit,, the new decks do try to cut grass,, too good...
I feel sorry for those that have to remove their deck,,, I don't do that... I just jack it up and puddly knife every second mowing or so on a sheet metal drip pan slid underneath,, then throw the chewing tobacco mixture out in the woods or on places I don't want anything to grow..
I have thought about a 2 part epoxy coating under the deck, and I'm also a fan of por-15 products... Each to their own,, it won't solve the problem, but might help reduce clean up frequency, and labor in doing so..
I'm working in Mexico right now helping deere and some other off brands with some of their manufacturing "contracting" issues... I'll assure you right now,,, deere doesn't know about the problem,, and they don't know how to know about the problem, and they will never know what to do about it...
They are playing the "hang on" game like our other American last call companies...
I'm there,, I'm looking,, that's what I see...
