Awhile back someone was kind enough (KennyD?) to give me some part numbers from the John Deere sight with instructions as to how to access the parts catalog. As none of my efforts have succeeded after a half hour of trying,
I would appreciate some help once more. I need the schematic parts break down numbers for the JD 750 compact tractor SCV as my loader now goes up all by itself. Any aid will be much appreciated. I'm thinking an internal spring broke but cannot be sure.

The web-site you are looking for is JDparts.com. The link to the parts catalog is on the left side.

Gentlemen thank you very much. Ken ; your tutorial showed me what i was doing wrong. When it asked for "model no" I kept typing in "JD 750 tractor" to distinguish it from the 750 crawler or drill. It always stated "no results found". All I had to put in was "750". Jim: mine is the Cessna SCV. They show a control valve (#22) that looks like a spool so I 'm assuming that's what you are talking about. If I snapped a collar on the housing, this is going to prove an expensive fix.

Yes parts key #22 includes the spool as it's only available with a complete valve assembly.

Are you meaning to say if the spring at the end of the spool is broken, I have to buy the entire scv assembly housing?

No the spring is available but I think a new spring will not stop spool from letting oil leak by in valve housing. I suppose R&R of spring will tell the tale.

Maybe replace o-ring on spool.

Maybe replace o-ring on spool.

Obviously something is not retaining the fluid I heard a slight pop and the loader went up all by itself. There is insufficient force to return the spool to its first position without me pushing on the lever to get it back to lower the bucket.
