As I read this thread I was reminiscing about my old sled which dated to the 60's.....a Ski Do Olympic with a narrow track. (I think the track was about a foot wide?).
Back then, you had to be a gymnast to bring out the full potential of these machines. To turn sharply, one would stand on the running board and lean waaay out to bring the sled around while applying throttle, etc.
The leaf spring suspension in the front provided about 2" of travel...and none in the back. :laughing: I think my single-cylinder engine was 299 cc's?....and I broke the crankshaft once. You became a pretty fair mechanic if you wanted to ride. EVERYTHING broke at one time or another.
