I have a chain on my 47 front mount and I have never had a problem. You may want to check the sprocket alignment and chain tension...

Sprocket alignment is perfect. The problem is the chain runs at about 2400 RPM. It just wears out. You either change in mid winter or change it when it breaks. And its only 40 chain.

Well My dealer called me into his office this morning while I was getting a couple of bucket hooks. He had me sit down to tell me how much it was going to cost me to trade up from my 47' snowblower to the new 54" blower coming out in November. When I purchased my 2320 last july it was with the understanding that I would trade in my blower for the newer and wider version coming out. Now I know why he had me sit down it will cost me $1281.00 plus tax to trade up:eek: To me thats a lot of money for just 7inches wider. They will have to change my upstop, but everything else will fit perfectly! Now my only question is do I want to sink in that kind of money for the extra width, or would I rather buy myself a new rotary cutter:rolleyes: What do you guys think? Just thought I would keep you posted.............

This looks like a cheaper way to get the extra width, but it still seems like a bit of a rip off to have to pay that much for a blower finally designed for your tractor. But, that is not exclusive to John Deere either, and we are kind of stuck with buying things that fit our tractors, or going without. Good luck with your choice, and keep us posted.

Somebody has to pay for that new building! LOL...every time I've driven by they've been closed but I'm hoping to stop by some time. Word on the street is that its a REALLY nice setup...

I'd think that you might be better off selling your blower "private sale" I'm sure they're factoring in some depreciation and the fact they have to resell your blower, etc...

So how much are we talking for this new toy? $4K range brand new?

"They will have to change my upstop, but everything else will fit perfectly! "

Dale,

What do you mean by "changing your upstop"? Are they saying the regular quicktach hitch doesn't work with the new blower or something?

not sure what fits yet, but they did say I will need a new upstop in order for the new blower to fit! Sounds kinda of stupid to me....

Hmmm.. I'd wager something just ain't right. I've been running a 47" blower since 1997 - first on a 425 and now on my 445. We have a second one on a 2210. So that's three different 47" blowers over the past twelve years in the heavy snow country of Maine. Guess what --- All original chains. We give 'em a shot of chain lube before each use, and keep them properly tensioned. Failure to do either of those things will cause premature chain wear. Also have several friends with similar machines - haven't heard of any issues.

I had resigned myself to the 47" blower for my 2520 and ordered one back in August while they were on sale.

Couple of weeks later the dealer called and told me about the new 54" model. I upgraded for an additional $400 bucks and will take delivery in November. For me the extra cost made sense.

I'll upload a photo when it arrives.
