John Deere trade-in Allowance on Kubota

Have you had any problems with the engine temp on your Kubota ? We do a lot of heavy bush hog work and the guys run them hard, I am more inclined to buying a tractor that can get the work done and have a good resale value in 3 yrs, flip it out and start new again. Have you seen pricing on the new Kubota m series ? How do you feel the Kubota does when comparing PTO HP and torque ? I have not demoed a 135 yet but will this spring, most other brand dealers feel that we will not be happy with the pto out put.

Not to butt in here, but just thought you might be interested in the newly announced Kubota M7 series (if PTO hp might be an issue on the MX135). Will be available second half of this year supposedly. Hp range from 130 to 170.

Kubota seems like such an insignificant blip on Deere's radar screen in the ag scheme it just made me wonder why they seemed to be offering such a good deal. It's like Kubota doesn't even offer an ag electronic package. I am running a CNH labeled Trimble system on my Kubota, but have they seen something in the new Kubota lineup that concerns them, plus Kubota having purchased several European attachment manufacturers?

So here is the fear... Kubota is making a push into production Ag, bought a hay tools company, is building a big ugly tractor, etc. They are still a small part of the market, but Kubota has a track record of hitting home runs. BX, ZD, RTV, etc. All products that took Kubota from near zero to the top of the market very quickly. Lots of eyeballs are on them right now. M-GX has been out for awhile, but the market seems to be accepting them more. We had our best year ever on big M's this year.

Trimble's Nav stuff is great. Kubota actually owns a guidance system now though the Kverneland purchase. The monitor will be in the new M7 running tractor functions and can be unlocked for GPS. They actually created ISO-BUS so there is knowledge behind it. From what I've seen, its not Trimble though. They have a long way to go to bring proper support to the US as well.

My location is Northern Minnesota so overheating is not much of a concern. My M135GX stays right at the gauge midpoint except when I have been in windy conditions when chopping haylage and I got the system plugged enough I started seeing the gauge creep up. I use it quite a bit pulling a disk or cultivator where I run by the power display and auto-shift so it's around 90% power, but that field work is spring or fall and temps are seldom over 80. For torque backup it can't match the JD7720 but that tractor is in a whole different class. The Kubota is far better than the 6230 but once again not comparing apples to apples.

I got a coupon from deere last year as well, 7k, off the best deal I could make trading my Kubota 7040 in on a 5100E cab. I looked at it and Hated the deere, shifter was on top of my leg, my feet were against the front windows, and I had to hike my legs up and back to reach the petals, very uncomfortable cab imho. The 12 speed trans in the deere was a 3 range x 4 speed, the Kubota was a 12 speed as well, 2 range 6 speed, allot less shifting. Also the eseries, the right cab door does not open and it had no mirrors.

I went to my Kubota dealer and mentioned the deal deere wanted to make, and let them think I was going to take it, and got my 9960 with 12 speed, and 2 remotes for less than deere.

The 9960 is a winner, comfortable and plenty of power. I have 400 hours on it in 9 months, and I was sick for 2 months, and hardly used it. it is cranking out 5x6 bales out of a Vermeer 605 k without straining, and the bales are bricks. It also runs away with an international 370 14' disc with 20" blades on it...I love it
