JOHN DEERE TRANSMISSION FAILURE

/ JOHN DEERE TRANSMISSION FAILURE #11
i would suspect a problem in alignment somewhere. Maybe a clutch housing or transmission housing was machined incorrectly. This is almost always the case when splines fail at low hours. I guess another possibility could be too much endplay in crankshaft that could allow splines to be sliding constantly, although I would think you would have other problems such as oil leaks at front and rear oil seals. keep us posted on what is found.

UPDATE, No one seems to know what caused the problem with the transmission shaft. The total down time on this repair was 18 weeks. Delivery was made and the transmission had some leaks in it, returned to dealer for further repairs. The new service manager called me back yesterday, due to all the time and trouble I have had, they are going to give me all the oil and filters to do another 50hr break-in. They have also agreed to give me a 2 year warranty on the transmission and 1 year on the complete drivetrain.

As they should. I can't believe you've been tractorless for 18weeks. That is the least they should do. Good luck with this tranny.
