Just got back. The salesman has his own office inside my favorite 40 year old JD dealership. So I don't think this is a scam. A brand new machine with 0.1 hours on the clock is sitting there just waiting for a new 62D deck to be delivered. The deal includes me giving them two old implements for two new ones. The deck will be one of them, my 20 year old rusty 7 foot back blade will be the other. Total cost to me is $500 plus state sales tax on the $500. So I will owe them $534 total. The salesman was apologetic that he forgot to mention the $34 sales tax. He assumed I might be tax exempt since I own a tree farm. They showed me the back blade they will give me. It's made by Frontier for JD with JD name on it and is green. I can't believe it, it's at least as heavy as the old plus it's a 4 way blade instead of only two way. It has the normal angle adjustment plus a tilt adjustment. They even said that if I didn't want the new tractor they just showed me they would order one from the factory, my choice. I told them I'd take whichever one they could get ready to deliver the quickest and to get the paperwork ready for me to sign. Upon asking more questions I find this is a one dealer thing as far as they know. They are just being really agressive right now on the 2520. He did not know if any other dealers were doing the same thing. He did ask if I knew anyone with a 2520 who would like a similar deal. They are going to do one or two more deals similar this. Has to be a 2520, has to be like new condition, has to be 3 years old or less. Next time however he said they will probably raise the price to $750 since counting mine they now have two used 2520's on the lot. Anyone out there who fits this description and is willing to travel to central MN for the deal? Remember they would have to see your machine first.
Signed, one happy guy!
