Don,

It's my understanding the general "Buying/Pricing/COMPARISON" forum is set up specifically to answer multiple brand, comparison type questions.

You are absolutely correct.

cowboydoc,

You are absolutely correct.

So, would it then be appropriate to have this thread relocated to the buying/pricing/comparison forum?

A potential Deere buyer asking Deere owners participating on a Deere discussion group what they think of another tractor brand as compared to Deere seems perfectly reasonable to me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Actually, if that's the info I was looking for, I would almost feel silly asking anywhere else. I might also try to find another board for the competing brand just to make sure I got a balanced story. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Although it is appropriate for this thread to be there it's ok to be here. Usually if it's a grey area like this we don't move them unless there's a problem. So far most of the discussion has been Deere. If it turns or if the poster would like the post moved there it certainly can be.

While I realize that this is a global board, and much of the JD unts are imported, I'd still much rather give my money to an American owened company.

Why is the price of concrete so high?

Why is the price of steel and other metals so high?

Why is the price of fuel so high?

Look at where the demand is exploding...

I don't know about you folks, but for me, I get tired of typing up a defense of my buying green in the "General" column. It always turns into a brand war and I just tend to shy away from it unless something specifically "gets my goat" or if I can add some decent info or humor. My opinion is that I purchased a machine that is backed by a great company and I'm lucky to have a great dealer.
Signed,
me...one happy Deere owner.

PS. I too think you should look at a slightly bigger machine for your needs.

I couldn't agree more with you Kyle and that's exactly why I don't post much anymore.

Hi there, as ex JD 850 owner, I must say that I don't regret at all my switch to Mahindra. Don't know where 2615 is made, my 2015 was made by Mistschubishi (spelling) and as I understand all JD small tractors are made abroad......... As far as the resale value goes , yes the "green" have better value. I would say it applays more to big JD tractors. Remember kubota? Few years back it was in the same boat as mahindra is now . Besides most people I'm included buy tractor to keep. I know one thing i sure would like 5 more ponies.... Something for you to ponder. With what ever decision you are going with. Good Luck. And welcome on board. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thank you and all info is much appreciated. I do have a bigger tractor to brush the pature with if need be. But it's a little old and uses gas and at about $2.19 here in good ole southern illinois,I might want to stick with something more effecient.
My dealer has a "brand new" leftover that he could not sell. 4110 fel,and 60'mmm for $14900. Plus the full warranty and 0% for 3 years. Coupla xtras on the 4110 also, folding rops, cruise, but turf tires. Never had them on 4wd,don't know how they react.
With that in mind and the great intrest rate, i am being pulled to green.
And resale value,I agree,it's probably better than most, but you also have a great point with Kubota.
With that,a tip of my hat to you all, thanks for allowing this new member come in and ask a ton of questions to ya all.
I'm still listening and still learning!!

That, sir, is an exceptional price. Really quite a good deal.
