John Deere X530
I was just delivered a new X530 today. My yard is about 7 acres, and I mow my rental which is about 5 acres. I'm not scared. I've decided to leave about half of each yard to nature. X700s are for hobby farmers, and the X540 is liquid-cooled, which is completely unnecessary for this class of tractor. Scags rack up 2500+hrs on air-cooled motors, and still make money. I found the X530 to fit my needs perfectly. My yard is basically pasture, minus the cattle. If you have any ?????s, just ask. I've researched every aspect, of every JD lawn/garden tractor available. I am not knocking X700s & X540s, I just needed a very cost effective lawn tractor, and was able to meet my <$150 mo. budget by $.50 and am 100% confident that a X530 will go 10 years and 1200hrs. with routine maintenance. Believe me, I would have an X748+X728+X540 parked next to my Bell JetRanger in my brand-new timber-frame barn on a 1000 acres if price wasn't an option, but it is. Bottom line, of you have a really big yard and need to haul less than a ton, the X530 will perform flawlessly for many years to come.
