I agree. I beleive 10 grand will be real close for the base model.15k was speculation. You can buy a 2520 compact for that. John Deere would not do that. They are competitive.jcmseven said:My understanding is the machine is to be priced competitively. I do not know where the 15K number comes from, but my dealer said his source within the company, who has ways of knowing, made a point to him the price would be in line with the machines they are seeking to outsell: namely the Kubota RTV and the Polaris Ranger and Kawasaki Mule. I suspect we will be looking at a retail of around 10-11K on the gasoline

I'm really wondering if those are 25" tires on it now. If so, it will be one cool beast with 27" tires. It sort of reminds me of the Dodge pickups in that they look like their stock tires are too small on their 4X4 pickups. You know, it's like they have a lift kit from the factory. I'm an old boy who likes a little ground clearance with my 4X4's; not one of these kids now who wants their trucks to drag their frames on the ground when going down the road. Gees, I'll never get that fad. I could literally back over the top of one of those things with my 4X4 Cummins powered dually Dodge that has a 4" lift kit and never know it was anything more than a speed bump.
I think you ought to see one in person Tommy. I just can't see JD putting out something that is exceptionally weak. I'm not saying it would be impossible, but with the Kubota RTV900 being as strong as it is, I can't see JD coming out with something that is a step down from the existing HPX units. For example, here is a pic of two tractors I now own. Although the JD is bigger, neither are what I'd consider weak by any stretch of the imagination.

JD said they put the XUV through the exact same test program as the HPX, so it should hold up. It just looks weird the way the engine cradle hangs down from the main green frame. Plus the size of the green frame dwarfs that cradle tubing. There as supposed to be some heavy duty skid plates coming too. This machine was a pre-production model we were told.
This is by far the heaviest duty IRS out there. When loaded, it doesn't sag at all like a Polaris does. You keep almost all your suspension travel even when loaded. No other UV can say that. But the overall machine is not too heavy or complex like the Kubota. It should split the difference well between the Kubota and the Polaris.
