My friend has the Ranger and JD. From talking to his employees that use them, they like the JD. Said it seems to be built more for work than the Polaris. I did notice the JD is louder. I have ridden many Rangers, but never worked one hard. The ride is smooth, acceleration great, and it's fast. But why do you need to go 50 MPH anyway? Polaris used to have a lot of electrical issues from TPS to TBAP sensor, and I have seen a lot of issues coming from an electrical plug where a wire has broken free of the plug. I would think that over the years Polaris would finally have eliminated this issue. However my friend has a Ranger 800 that is a year old and has already been to the shop for electrical issues. And I haven't heard of this being common, but something happened to the rear end in his as well.
