JD would not "get the repair." The dealer might, if the owner took the mower to the dealer. But, JD doesn't make any money from the labor and all JD corporate would get is some amount on parts.

These conspiracy ideas that products are engineered to fail are incredible. JD's gross revenue in 2017 was 26.6 BILLION dollars. How many rebuild kits or needle valves do you think JD would have to sell to affect the bottom line? A million? 10 million? Yeah...that's realistic.

everything that needs to be replaced adds up, and when JD stops making a needed part, you are supposed to buy a new tractor, which it self, is only supported for so many years.. this IS the way they work.. there's no more of those 30+ year tractors made.. that ended around the '80's...
