Try Batteries Plus. They will replace the battery for about $100.
Ill give them a call, thanks. I really would like to keep the older one going also, as its in great shape otherwise

I have a 2008 John Deere 4120 CUT tractor and John Deere does not make the part for my tractor. The dealer was informed they are not making parts for it anymore. The part is the PTO valve module. When told this I wondered what the hell. The dealer did say that for now they can get the parts to rebuild it, springs ,valves, pistons, O-rings and more. Lucky for me the body was okay. I got that tractor because I wanted a tier 3 and not the tier 4. Called Stiner for parts and they said only for really older tractors and this was too new. So I asked dealer what would I have done if not for getting parts to fix it and he said "not a thing". He said parts are only available until they are all gone. Are all tractor dealers getting like this. I know they have after market for cars, trucks but when you spend a lot for a tractor you expect to get parts when needed. My dealer checked with all dealers of tractor parts and even Deere's remand plant but none. He even checked with salvage yards but no luck. Have any of you had the same problem.
The same goes for GM vehicles, cars and SUVs that rely on suspension parts out of their Korean Deawoo parts suppliers. Many have gone defunct since covid. GM can't get parts for warranty and nobody can ever get parts beyond warranty either.

The Deere 50/55/70/90 series compacts are not well Deere supported with parts after covid. Yet, the Gray Market re-engineered Yanmar parts made here in the U.S.A. are keeping the Yanmars, Deeres, Cub Cadets, Komatsu, etc all running. The Yanmar Tractor Owners Group has 2X the community membership in a years time due to the parts shortages. Our connections have found places to even machine 4WD kingpins, sprockets, gears, etc.

main groups.io Group

Us Yanmar folks have a few of the cross-reference indexes and know what engines are global models having ample parts vs. selected and rare engine types.

With the newer machines, one of the hardest to find items are RELAYS. The older machines pre-tier emissions of the 50/55/70 series and the YM, F & early FX machines don't use relays either.

It's bad enough tracking down J20C Hy-Gard or TF500A. (same stuff) for Deere or Yanmar compacts.

My local dealer here is IL also shows it available for order
'available for order' means the supplier is still in business and 'could' make parts. The wait times are measured in 20 weeks or more for production back logs and then 4 weeks thru distribution channels before seeing at your doorstep. This is how my facility is running. OE manufactures take priority, then resell to the dealer networks, aftermarket, warranty are on long hold lists.

There are huge shortages on connectors, reed switches, hall sensors, and proximity sensors.

Compact utility tractors (CUT) from the 70s, 80s & 90s are running very well without all the electronics and tier emissions.

When would the supply chain rebound, well, there are few people working in factories now as baby boomers have retired. Gen Y & Z don't want to work long OT hours. In fact they want part-time work instead. It's a mess in the industries right now.

All these manufacturers can't get you to buy their new highly overpriced junk if they keep giving you parts for the good older ones.

Last week, after 7 years of rough use, the jack broke on my Deere CX-15.
Fully expected the part to have to be ordered, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was not only in stock at my local dealer, but came with a 10% winter parts discount :)

You must be mistaken. On another thread many folks commented that one reason to pay more for green was due to parts availability as the tractors get older. ;)
Just an update to my original post. Dealer tried again and tried several different parts warehouses and no luck. They did however were able to find all the parts to completely rebuild it and even with labor with a cheaper price than a new one. Don't know how long parts will be available but hope I don't have to do this again.

Good to hear things worked out for you.

My first tractor was a poorly maintained thirty year old JD855 I bought for $4000. The dealer needed a part and it took a couple of weeks to find (in California). The part was not cheap. I ended up putting over $2000 into that JD to get it serviceable. But I realized it would be a matter of time until parts even for a popular brand and model would be difficult to source. I almost bought a "junked" 855 for a parts tractor but they wanted $3k for it. I wound up getting a much larger new tractor that would last the rest of my life and do everything I needed to get done. Safer, more comfortable and so far, so good. The LS dealer gave me $7000 for the 855 so cannot complain.

People who have the ability, (both skill and health) to wrench on a tractor can "afford" a used tractor especially if being without a machine for a few days or weeks getting parts is not onerous. I am 72, and decided an old tractor was not the right fit for me.
This weekend I had to blow a lot of snow and it was comforting to know the machine would be reliable. If I had a problem, the dealer was close enough, and good enough, to bail me out.

I have seen a decent amount of parts for the 50 and 55 series on ebay recently.
