I have found a johnson Tractor (brand name) that possibably needs a clutch, it is a 2004 Model #JT3004. I have looked everywhere and I cannot find any info on this brand of tractor.

If you think it is a Chinese tractor it very well may be a Jinma or one of the other popular ones. They Jinma for example is sold with over 100 re badged names in North America. Look at the valve cover and get the engine data off of it and post it. Maybe that will give us some more info to go by and a pic of the tractor and engine will also help a ton.

actually the tractor is yellow. I believe the engine has JD Disel engine and the # is XK0620500136. the tractor has a front end loader and a backhoe attachment.

Johnson was located in Georgia and sold Foton tractors, but relabled the tractors claiming higher HP, so I'm thinking the JT3004 is probably a foton FT254. You can confirm this by tetermining what engine the tractor has in it. Yangdong Y385 was common. He advertised he was using cummins I think, but I'm thinking it is probably a Yangdong. (I do think he built a prototype with cummins, but not sure). Prior to starting Johnson,he was a gray market dealer. I think the name was something like King equpment but not sure. A Foton 254 is uniqe as it has a mechanism attached to the clutch to prevent shifting the gear shfit unless the clutch is fully pressed down.

How can i tell if it is a Foton tractor or not. I do know it is a 30hp, How reliable is this tractor, and where could you buy parts for it. I do know there is a tag that says Equipment King, inc. Is this business still in business, if so how can I get in touch with them.

As for the color, it does not mean a thing. My tractor is red. I have seen my same tractor in green, blue, yellow, grey, white, and orange. I am sure there are more colors out there. The thing with these Chinese tractors is the importer can order them how they want.

I seriously doubt the engine is a JD. JD does not ever use thier own engienes in tractors this size. They use Yanmar and some others. I am guessing what you have is a Yangdong which many believe to be a cheap Chinese clone of a Yanmar. I am guessing the reason he got JD into the mix is some dealers will use words like "JD style engine" in the sales literature they push.

The FEL and the BH have nothing to do with the tractor. These are all made by a third party like Koyker or Bush Hog and fitted to the tractor.

Chris, The JD Disel engine was on a tag on the side of the motor with the serial # of the engine. I will double check tomorrow when I stop by and take some pictures.

OK JD is Jaingsu Jaingdong. so you likely do have TY395 engine (30HP). This configuration is very rare for a foton and very common if it is a Jinma. The foton in this size had a lot more finish, seat area totally shrouded, etc. The Jinma 300 chassis has 4 speeds in 2 ranges for a total of 8 forward and 2 reverse, with reverse on the 4 speed shift lever. Foton uses 4 speeds and a separate lever has HI LO and reverse for 8 forward and 4 reverse speeds. I have heard that equipment king has shut down. We can direct you to other possible parts sources once we confirm what your tractor is.

thanks, I will take pictures today after church, and post them this afternoon, Do you know how dependable these are? I am interested in buying it, but since nobody in our area knows about it, not sure if I should buy or not.

Here are the pics of the tractor in question. It looks like a Foton to me. The pic of the data plate is for the tractor, not the engine so maybe Chip or someone else can help.

Here is a pic of a Foton 30 HP 4 wheel drive for comparison. The one you have seems to be the same.

It seems to be a Foton 304 which means its made by Foton and is 30HP supposedly, and is 4 wheel drive (304) It does have the ty395 engine in it like Chip said.
