Gear pump breaks hydraulic filter

Hi folks, the backhoe gear pump hits and breaks the hydraulic filter.
Am I not connecting the PTO correctly?
Could I flip the filter upside down or relocate it, somehow?
Appreciate any feedback.

Am I looking from the bottom or the top? Yes, the filter can be run with the cup down, as is should be. The picture you show looks to me like it would trap air. Also, find out why the pump is moving. Is it not secure?

Is this the first time that you ever installed the back hoe or has it worked previously ?

Sorry the picture is sideways, PTO is left side and filter is right side.
I have used it quite a bit and noticed a dent in the filter, it grew until it punched a hole in it.
They are so close together that maybe the the body flexes and hits it.
It´s frame mounted.

Sounds like you either need to prevent the pump from rotating that much or move the filter whichever is the easiest or possible to do.

If y could spin the base and put the filter upside down, would that be ok?
