Here are a couple W40 x 593 steel transfer girders.

Each one weighs over 34,000#.

They are transferring over a million pounds from columns above. A column was removed below so a drive-in was more accessible.

A steel cover plate still needs to be welded to the flanges to tie them together.

Dave,

Is that good looking bearded fellow wearing the Packer jacket you?

Gee, a little greyer, and maybe a pound or two ( /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) more, and we could be brothers!

Hi Garry,

That be me /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif!

We seem to have lots in common. I just need to be as upbeat as you on more occasions.

I hope to loose a few more pounds over the winter months.

Regards,

Yooper Dave

Hey Dave!

I'm working on more than just a few! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Of course, it really helped when we were out in Vermont and Sugarmaker gave us some of his own maple syrup and maple candy, or Alan40 brought a maple cream pie to share!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Being the appreciative guests that we were, we just COULDN'T refuse everyone's hospitality. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Seriously, are you following one of the popular "plans", or are you just cutting things out? We're using the South Beach diet, and it's working well. I'd lost about 17 pounds or so over a month and a half, until we went to Vermont. I only gained about 3 back after our vacation - all in 1 night I think! (it was well worth it, believe me!!) We're back on track since we got back, and I'm down about 5 more now. Still have a ways to go, but it sure isn't as hard as I thought it would be. And I've discovered that I like salads a lot more than I ever realized I did! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Garry,

I lost 40 pounds this spring, and have been maintaining nicely over the past 6 months.

I got into a Aitkins related diet with lots of protein and low carbs. I said no to regular pop and candy related items. I quit having snacks between my snacks /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. I also keep very physically active on the weekends.

I would like to loose another 20, but I am not in a big hurry.

Good luck with your plan.

Yooper Dave,

Congrates on losing the weight. I too went on a atkins type diet. 7 months and 70 lbs less. Man I feel great. I keep a water softner salt sack by the back door. It weighs 50 lbs and when I think about messing up my diet and think about carrying that around for a bit and then I think diet again. Keep up the good work you have to feel great.
