Jump starting a vehicle

The side curtins were sliders. They really were fun cars. Not much good for hauling your buddies around, although I could carry two passengers, one in the passengers seat and one sitting on the floor between his legs. It kind of looked like they were riding in a bobsled. This was before the days of manditory seat belts of course.

You could do 5, if you put one in the boot and one hanging from the luggage rack.
I preferred a single female companion in mine, although there were drawbacks like lack of room across the seat.

I assume you mean a lack of room across the seat of the car and not across the seat of the single female companion. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

You got that straight Gary!
I won't even go near alternative uses for the center arm rest, or convenience of interior door release cables.

The A was a nice car, but I really loved the TD & TF roadsters

A '53 TD was my first ever car, in the early '60's. Among the joys others have mentioned were the Lucas electrical and fuel systems /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Days late but that's the way that is taught in all safety courses.

Thanks, Egon. All I knew was that was the way Dad taught me to do it and it's the way I passed it on to my son. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

One of my many, many proud days with my son was when he called me from college to tell me he'd been out with friends the night before and they'd found themselves with a dead battery. They had cables and found someone who'd let them jumpstart from their good battery.

He told me he was rather suprised to find he was the only one among six people there who knew how to properly hook up the cables. I could tell he was rather proud of that, too. "See? I did pay attention once in a while." /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif
