Capacitors are better than stun guns.

How’s your stingers inner liner. Does the wire feed absolutely freely without hitching. I had fits with my Hobart HH135 for a couple years not running right. Then one day I got a new liner and all the strange running just went away. I suspect that some dimwit like me may have unknowingly run over it with a tire or kinked it internally while putting it away.

I've cleaned liner however didn't completely remove it. Will check it again I did raher recently disassemble the gun, checked and cleaned contacts on trigger. Still not working like Lincoln's I've previously used and owned though.

If you release the drive tension you should be able to pull the wire through the gun from the front fairly easily. If you can't then the spool nut is too tight or the liner is shot. Sometimes liners go bad from pinching the gun cable, dropping a piece of iron on it or just not changing a s often as needed. If the liner is bad, get the next size bigger liner than the wire you are wanting to run. Those Lincoln's were notorious for the spool nut tightening while welding.

It sounds like it is probably something with the feed speed board or something but the other thing to check might be the ground clamp cable. Just make sure it doesn't have a corroded connection anywhere and it has a clean connection to what you are welding.

I'd unplug every connector and check for corrosion, and spray some tuner cleaner (or equiv) in the wire speed pot and cycle it a few times to clear any gunk. In addition to other cable checks outlined above. Another thing is the tip; if it has a micro-berry inside it it can work fine when cold and bind when it heats up.

The welder may have a bad wire feed potentiometer, AKA pot. And there may be an easy way to check. Remove the cover and look at both of the pots. They are probably the same device and will be marked the same if so. If they are the same then either swap the connections if the wires are long enough or swap locations if need be. If the feed problems go away then it is the feed pot.
