I recently learned of a "used" BX snow blower in NJ, and I sent an e mail to the person selling it. Turns out that he was just listing it for his father who wasn't computer savvy. Got a telephone number and called to discuss the blower. Made a tentative offer on the blower and was told that it had to be picked up within the week. He was moving to the South Pacific for a job transfer. Enlisted the aid of LarryRB to do the driving with his Dodge Diesel Pick-Up. We traveled 199 miles in exactly 3 hours. When we got there, I examined the blower and saw that it was as close to new as possible. The paint was perfect and there wasn't even any paint worn off the auger blades. Then we went to the rear garage to get the rest of the parts. Here is where the "gold" was stored. While in the rear garage, I purchased a 6' rear blade, a 26 gallon electric pump sprayer and a Hobart 200 amp MIG welder. All this including the blower for less than 1/2 of what a blower costs from a dealer. Good thing that I didn't have more money with me, because we were out of space on the pick-up. Thinking of going back for more, but I am already having a hard time hiding all this from Mrs. Junkman. When she arrived home, she made the cursory cruise around the house to see what had been added to the rest of the "junk" hidden in the back 40..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
