I recently learned of a "used" BX snow blower in NJ, and I sent an e mail to the person selling it. Turns out that he was just listing it for his father who wasn't computer savvy. Got a telephone number and called to discuss the blower. Made a tentative offer on the blower and was told that it had to be picked up within the week. He was moving to the South Pacific for a job transfer. Enlisted the aid of LarryRB to do the driving with his Dodge Diesel Pick-Up. We traveled 199 miles in exactly 3 hours. When we got there, I examined the blower and saw that it was as close to new as possible. The paint was perfect and there wasn't even any paint worn off the auger blades. Then we went to the rear garage to get the rest of the parts. Here is where the "gold" was stored. While in the rear garage, I purchased a 6' rear blade, a 26 gallon electric pump sprayer and a Hobart 200 amp MIG welder. All this including the blower for less than 1/2 of what a blower costs from a dealer. Good thing that I didn't have more money with me, because we were out of space on the pick-up. Thinking of going back for more, but I am already having a hard time hiding all this from Mrs. Junkman. When she arrived home, she made the cursory cruise around the house to see what had been added to the rest of the "junk" hidden in the back 40..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here is the BX Snowblower. The rest of it is already "hidden" away from probing eyes... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here is a picture of the welder.... tried to hide this, but got caught when she entered the garage. She knew that I haven't owned a welder for many years. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The rear blade just blends in with the rest of the "iron", so I don't think that she is going to catch onto this one either... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I threw some mud on it, so it looks like it is used and been here for a while. Really hated to do this because it was so clean when I picked it up. What a man has to do to hide the toys borders on the uncontienceable... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have one of those sprayers, but mine has a boom on the back. Use it to spray my acre or so, in about 20 minutes verses walking and pumping with my backpack sprayer. Mine has fert/weedcontrol in it now.

You know this, but NEVER put weed or veggy killer in it, then put fertilizer in it to spray the Mrs. flowers or veggie garden.........she wont like you much anymore!

Let me know where you hook that thing up electrically please, I still use the little clips on the battery and I hate doing that.

Junk, you shoulda called as you probably drove right by the farm on the way to NJ. I could have let you borrow another 6' pu-bed.

You pop over the river on the Beacon bridge, Tappan or Mid-Hudson?

Thank god I don't own a BX - I woulda been uncontrollably envious. I heard BX's suck anyway.

84 - 684- Saw Mill River Pky to tappan Zee to 287,, we missed the Newburg-Beacon.. I use to stop at exit 5 all the time at that truck stop. You must be near it.. Going the way we did, 199 miles and 3 hours to the second.. Return I couldn't use the Saw Mill River and we used 684 in its entirety,,
