Brrr. It looks cold. But at least you get some quality seat time.

Just another reason that I got a satellite package without Weather Channel. They're all about creating drama and trying to convince people that the sky is falling.
They spend more time pre empting some of their better shows with non stop coverage of weather "events" that don't amount to anything.

I agree, check out accuweather.com

I guess I am a little confused at the cynicism of the weather predictions. We got 33" total, and when I drove to work yesterday morning, I drove through a foot of snow on almost every street, the entire way to work. I would rather get a worst-case scenario forecast than the other way around. It's their job, and they have to make it exciting, or I know I would not watch it at all.

The center of the heavy snow fall ran (guessing) 100 miles East of predicted path, which looked to have it's reticle sight lined up on our house. We were hunkered down for the Snowmageddonpocalypse, but only got about 12 inches just North of Hartford. Guvna closed the highways as a precaution (will probably now catch a world of pain for it), so no work for me, yesterday. Got to clean up the end of my street and a few of the neighbor's drives. Bucket & back blade worked fine.

I think small children with sleds and members of TBN are the only ones who actually were waiting for a large storm. The rest of the population were probably just as glad that it passed them by.

Agreed. Some folks just get their kicks from whipping up on authority figures. Hindsight is a safe platform for pontification.
And, :welcome: to TBN!

Very true. I got about 24". It wasn't enough - I ran out of driveway to clear. I either need more driveway or some more large storms.

HA - I thought so. Hey, any time I get 24" in one blast - your more than welcome to come plow my mile long gravel monster, ha, ha.

Just finished with the last of the shoveling snow....Darn town crew decided to make a few more passes last night and covered up what I had previously shoveled. For my small town this storm cost $100K to clear. I'm figuring we got 16 inches but everywhere around us got 22-24 inches. My overage snow must have blown into someone else yard. National Guard came out yesterday to help clean the business districts. No complaints from me about the less than accurate weather forecast. Seems the northeast forecasting is difficult because the way in which weather systems from north, west, and south can collide with an extra helping of Atlantic moisture to suck into the mix. I'm thankful my power stayed on during the heavy winds.
