I went over to Junkmans today just to say Hi and help him move one of his historically correct "Corvair" vehicles.. The many times being there, he would mention his neighbors were well known. Some world wide, some region, and many countrywide. However, you never seem to see anyone on any one of those many trips to his home. Well today we moved the Corvair then a nice gentleman showed up for a quick visit with the Junkman.. Wanted Junkman to know he was in his summer cottage down the street.. This guy is "world reknown" but, you'd never believe it as he sat and talked.. Had a voice that sounded somewhat familiar and I just couldn't put my finger on it.. He had dropped a few hints, then walla,,, it was the one and only 'Big Bird" from Sesame street fame..

If his neighbor is Big Bird, does that mean Junkman is "Oscar the Grouch"?

Actually, Caroll Spinney is Big Bird AND Oscar the Grouch! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
More interesting, but totally useless trivia from me... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No, I was serious about this, no kidding. My mother in law was telling me about Big Bird many years ago, in fact when he started that gig. He came into her car dealership a few times for different things, and always went out of his way to draw pics for the kids in the show room.. We've all known he lives in the area. Just I never met him or know where his house is. Junkman did tell me, he is purposely on the quite side and he should be.. Why should people be hounding him like the paparazzi usually do? Let the poor guy alone..

I knew you weren't kidding...
I just thought that's it's interesting that he's Big Bird AND Oscar the Grouch. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Even though it's not quite the same thing, I've always thought that Jim Henson's Muppet Show is classic television, even for adults. Every once in a while I get tempted to buy the Time-Life DVD package. I always liked the wise-cracking old guys up in the balcony. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The real question is...
What kind of tractor does Junkman's neighbor have? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yesterday he was driving his "cow-a-sock-ee" mule /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif or however it is spelled. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I don't know what else he has. I know that someone else cuts the lawns at his place. I'll ask him what he presently has for a tractor, if he even has a tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
As a correction to Larry's post, this is his home in CT, not his summer place.
