If your tractor has a rear remote lever be sure to keep it in its neutral center position. It does have a detent to lock forward and continued running in this position would smoke the hydraulic system.

i installed a loop of hose on my detent side of the rear remotes to prevent this from happening.... its a real concern. loop.jpg

Just picked up my new DK45 today and reading the ops manual and by looking at the tractor the draft sensitive springs are in the bottom of the top link bracket on the tractor. This means that the bottom hole is the most sensitive, the middle a little less and the top hole not at all. The way you explain your tractor the top link is in the top hole so you would not have any usable draft control. By looking at the tractor the bracket hinges at the top and a lever comes off the bottom to activate the hyd.

thank you so much.. I just noticed there is a pivot point on the top link bracket and of course, the top hole is close to the pivot so little movement allowed... and the bottom one allow more play... I'm going to test the bottom one :) ... I may just use the bottom one and not use the top one again.

I just bought this one today. New tractor, hoe is slightly used. Been playing around with the hoe it is nice.
My last and only other tractor was a 9N ford 20 years ago.IMG_1357.jpgIMG_1358.jpgIMG_1359.jpgIMG_1360.jpgIMG_1361.jpgIMG_1362.jpgIMG_1363.jpgIMG_1366.jpgIMG_1367.jpgIMG_1368.jpg
I like the idea of the return line from the hoe.

The knob to control the 3PH which is located near the floor boards between your legs when seated is to slow the LOWERING of the 3PH ONLY. It does NOT affect the raising of the hitch.

The return line on the hoe is SUPPOSED to be connected to the hydraulic fill/return port for better overall flow than just connecting to the other port on the remote bracket.

A hydraulic hose loop, to be used when a backhoe is NOT connected to the detented remote ports can save a hydraulic pump meltdown and huge associated expense, as mentioned by GRSthegreat. It bears close attention to having one made to use when needed as described above.

A hydraulic hose loop
Thanks CM I will do that as I have to make up some hoses to run forward.
The dealer did this up nice for me besides he had to sub the 40 I asked for up to a 45 due to availability.

You're welcome! Don't want to hear of anyone accidentally frying a pump when it's so easy to prevent. I think they should supply the hose from the factory so everyone would know about it.:confused3:
