Hela, already painted it. I went against the grain here and used semigloss on everything over a primer of Zissner. Since we orange peeled the walls and the ceilings were stomped, I think flat just would not 'pop" as well. The end result is pretty good and drywall flaws are real hard to find.
I went with a contractor grade paint made by Glidden(can't remember the name) in 5 gal buckets for $69. Regular Glidden or Behr were both over $100 for 5 gal. I have to say I can't tell the difference in quality from the $100 stuff.
Eddie, I would think it would be better for wet areas than regular laminate? I like it so much I am thinking about doing my basement in it...1,080 sq ft, it's low traffic and dry...whaddya think? Right now it's all bare concrete and I was going to seal it with a Tung Oil based sealer, but now I am leaning towards the vinyl.
Gem, total outlay should come in around $10K for the re-model. That is including my hours and those of a couple of helpers at $10 an hr. I have to add it all up, but $3400 for the A/C/heat unit, about $4K to Home Depot, labor is under $1K and we still need to buy the Fridge & stove(waiting for a decent scratch & dent pair).
