I've had my little 550 Mule for 10 years now, very satisfied with it! :D I really don't need the bigger size as I can just use a tractor for the bigger jobs. May have to start using it for general transportation if gas keeps going up! ~~grnspot110

JIM in Ky.

I bought a Mule 3010 Gas for my wife 1-1/2 years before we got married. It's over 4 years old now and still runs great. I don't think any UTV is built much stronger than the Mule. It does sit a little low to the ground, so be careful of your clearance. You don't want to do any damage to the bottom of that sweet little diesel.

I bought a rubber pickup bedliner and in about 1/2 hour was able to cut out a floormat for the Mule. The painted diamond plate sure gets slick. The rubber mat was enough to line the Mule's bed and make a floormat for my wife and our neighbor out of one liner. I've also added a roof and windshield and like both.

I don't think you will find many negatives.

Spiveyman...........I ride a 03 Goldwing motorcycle and I keep it looking good so I don't mind a little wax on the Mule....... till it gets muddy!!!

If you plan to primarily drive that Mule to the mall and take kids to soccer practice you can wax it up and park it next to all the SUV's!!! ;) But that Mule was made to don some mud, go ahead and make it happy! HA! :D :D

Jinman..........thanks for the response. We are completely satisfied with the Mule and I agree the only negative I have is it could stand 2" taller. There is a lift kit that may come into the picture if needed at a later date. Glad you have had good luck with your Mule and thanks for the idea of the truck bed liner. I was looking at Lowe's yesterday for some type of matt that would work. I bought a horse stall matt and put it in my old horse trailer but it is way too thick for the Mule matts (does "matt" have two T's?). Where did you purchase the truck matt and was it easy to cut? Did you use a knife to cut it? thanks JIM

What mall?........the closest mall to me is about an hours drive away (at 70 MPH) so that could take all day on the Mule. Got to leave now...everything is on sale today..........need more wax!

I found a pickup bedliner at Tractor Supply for $57 as I remember, but that was in early 2004. The rubber has ribs instead of diamond design, but that is actually desirable in my opinion.

I used a box cutter retractable blade knife to scribe the mat deeply and then a larger pair of tin snips to finish the cut. With a sharp razor knife, you will be surprised how easily the rubber cuts. I suggest making a template out of an old cardboard box and marking the bedliner before making the final cut. that way, you'll get it right the first time with very little waste. Be sure to save all the extra waste pieces. You'll be surprised at how many uses you will have for a few pieces of tough rubber for padding on all kinds of things.

BTW: "Matt" with two t's is a person's name. Mat is the spelling you are looking for when you speak of floor mats.:)

Ha! Yeah, that'd be the mall I went to today... BAD idea. After 15 min circling the parking lot looking for a spot, I made it inside Sears to the madness. 2 min later I left and went home. What was I thinking?!?!?!

The did have a good deal on a power buffer though, did you get one for that Mule? ;)

Did you figure out that pic post deal?

By the way, anyone know much about the Husqvarna UTV's?

Spiveyman,
Good longtime friend owns a Saw Shop / Lawn Equipment Store ..
He has a Husky dealership, and he and his father owns several
Husqvarna UTV's. They had them now for about three years.

If I remember right, he said the Husky Utility Vehicles are made from
CLUB CAR ~~~

Nice little machines, I've rode in both of them and seem to do good.
They use there units for fun and looking over their land in Catahula Parish and around the lakes there. They also do a fair bit of hunting with 'em also.
That I know of, they have never had any trouble out of them at all . Matter of fact, just about two weeks ago, rode with him in one of 'em, and during the run, ask him about the quality of them. He said that is of yet, that they havent done nothing to them but fuel 'em up, and service them. Nothing really has give them any trouble at all !!!!

Spiveyman,

Just got back from a Thanksgiving meal in Knoxville, Tenn. . After I piged out I had the Knoxville newspaper looking in the want ads yesterday and some fella had a like new Kabota utv diesel camo with AC/heat and hard cab and the paper said it only had 2 hours on it and he wanted to sell it. He either did not like it after 2 hours or decided he could not afford it or something (may be a dealer???). He was asking $12,500 and I have no idea if that is a good price for a Kabota with extras so if you or anyone is interested let me know and I can get the phone number from my daughter. Just passing on the info.

Jinman........... thanks for the info and Tractor Supply as the source. I will check it out as soon as I get a chance....sounds like a plan. JIM

My guess is it's a kubota 1100 which as factory cab and ac/heat. 12,500 is a steal and with only 2 hours on it I would worry about there being issues. They retail for much much more.
