That was CRUDE oil...not refined oil!! But regardless a person doesnt have to worry about long term storage in a sealed container thats not permitted to rust. I already checked into that with Chevron people here.

Actually, there are no refined oils older than about 100 years, since oil was first refined about 100 years ago, however the organic hydrocarbon chemistry utilized to refine the hundreds of different classifications of crude oils has changed allot since then....

Isnt that exactyly what I said?? He referenced 10 million year old oil...and I said it was CRUDE oil..not refined oil.

I also stated that with discussion with Chevron about possibility of oil going "bad" ...they said as long as the barrel wasnt allowed to sit and get rusty...that I could keep a partially used barrel in my garage for as long as I wanted.

I never meantion any "hydrocarbon chemistry"..etc..etc.. Now did I? I think your letting your degree in "oiloligy" get ahead of you dude!

Sounds like maybe 5 gallons and a two inch hemmorrhoid might do the trick then!

3 things in life I never wanted.
1) Hemmorrhoid's
2) Any "social disease"
3) AmSoil products...

I need a 55 gallon drum of oil sitting in my garage about as badly as I need a 2 ft long hemorrhoid ! Which is probably 90% of posters on this BB's "needs".
Maybe you can treat your enormous 'roid with the "Anusoil" and then have it tested. Be sure to post the results and the methodology used conducting the test.

I hope someone can decipher the last half of that gibberish..I sure cant?

But EXACTLY as others have posted..I DONT MAIL ORDER "motor oil". Let this company get their product API approved...get it out on the open retail market where its EASILY obtainable ( thusly getting rid of their pyramid marketing scheme) and I'll try some. With API certification I AT LEAST have some sort of comparison I can use to make an initial judgement.

Just because SOME post on an internet BB..or an internet webpage..that "X" is the greatest thing since sliced bread...dont make it FACT partner.

My last post was that you do not currently use it [amsoil], never used it, do NOT even know what adds they use or what basestocks.

Please see my post about 2 pages back. When people like yourself cannot understand the product they NEED to knock the marketing etc. So sad as you have clearly posted on this mind blowing decision several times.

Again read some specifications on API cert and most are vague at best. If you are looking to as you posted a “comparison” to make “initial judgement” you do not understand oils. Also what does a pretty little donut on an oil bottle mean? Nothing. What the adds in the oil and basestock and HOW well then hold up though out its life/function ; via lower wear, viscosity stable, oxidation low or linear etc is what matters. Not an initial readings my friend

The more you post about their marketing & the 10-year old debate on API the more it shows your lack of the fundamentals of the topic at hand.

All this and I do not even use the oil; but at least I have used it, testing it and compared it to other oils in my application.

One possible conclusion from the oil test could be that Mobil one holds contaminants in suspension better than Amsoil.
