That endorphins Bill, natural pleasure chemical. Better high than any substitute, and not nearly as tough on the body. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Slamfire:

Even after 10 years and 2200 hours my little B7100 gets those endorphins going every time I climb on.

There are shiny metal spots where feet and hands have removed both paint and undercoating, the bucket is bent and has holes worn in it, paint is faded but it still feels like new everytime the key gets turned.

Years ago, I had a friend, Errol Heath, who has long since died of cancer. Errol and I shared a model airplane hobby together. Errol had several bits of wisdom. One that I'll always remember also applies to this discussion:

"Any time that you have spent doing something you enjoy, has not been time wasted."

I contribute that thought in memory of my friend, and I hope you will also keep it in your mind. Life is way too short, guys! Enjoy some of it while you can.

Merry Christmas to all!

I concur with the following:

"The greatest thing about fishing is even if you don't catch a fish, you've still wasted the day"

Sometimes it is best to take a break and do something for yourself. It recharges the batteries... be it sleeping in a boat hoping a fish doesn't disturb me or driving my tractor doing serious FEL work, I get the same satisfaction and feeling of pleasure. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

When I was 11 or 12 years old, I used to ride my bike to the nearest farm where I volunteered to work. I picked, put up and top/sucked tobacco.... a nasty job. But I also learned how to rebuild engines, paint cars and was taught how to drive a tractor. They always wondered why I never asked for money. To be honest at that age money wasn't that important to me. What was important thou was being able to drive that tractor. My grin could be seen miles away. Pay? When I was on that tractor I was rich with pleasure, stinking richer then any person could ever be.

Your friend Errol was obviously a very intelligent man, and thank you for sharing his words of wisdom with us. I am reminded of what my father told me while we were discussing the value of education: "Son, no time devoted to learning or serious study is EVER wasted."

As I interpret my dad's advice, it means the hours I spend reading the information other TBN members provide is well worth it. For a small investment of my time, I learn new ideas and the knowledge others are willing to share. Thanks to all of you, and enjoy your holiday season.

Bill -

Looks like your father was a very wise man as well.

Some of Errol's favorite sayings seemed quite simple, yet had more to them, the more you thought about them. This one comes from the pre-digital age. It is a good one to remember when people are arguing:

"Even a clock that has stopped is right twice a day!"

Thanks for the note of appreciation for our contribution.
