I don't believe I asked any questions about the differences... But now that I have your attention, How many tillers if any have a reverse rotation ?
My walk behind tiller has counter rotating tines which pull against the drive wheels, why do PTO tillers rotate the same direction as the drive wheels? It seems that they would cause the tiller to bounce more and push... As long as you don't buy one too big wouldn't a counter rotation do a better job on the soil?? CCM does not sell the reverse rotation tillers. Reverse rotation tiller do have some advantages and disadvantages. On pass tilling is a time saving advantage. The RTR tillers take 25% more HP than a standard tiller. If you are tilling in a rocky or unknown area you are susceptible to damage from contacting a object. The reverse rotation of the tiller hooks roots, rocks and unknown obstacles and sucks the tiller down into the soil and the motion of the tractor pulls the tiller into the object. A standard rotation tiller tends to climb over obstacles without any damage. Reverse rotation tillers are usually used by professional landscapers in flower beds and other known areas to be free of possible objects in the soil.
Walk behind tillers do a great job but do not have the capacity that 3 point tillers have. It is like comparing 2wd to 4wd, it's not really the same thing.

I was also bitten by the tiller bug this past week. I ordered the KKII 48" gear drive tiller and it came in yesterday. I can't wait to enlarge the garden!
