The first mig I owned was a HH140, Great little welder for a 110V unit. Then I decided to get something to weld a little thicker metal and bought a Miller ac/dc Thunderbolt. Never could get the hang of stick welding. Sold both and Bought the MM211 and never looked back. Like me, If you make some bad welds it is not the 211. Later on down the Road you might want to look into a Spool Gun and a small tank of Argon to try your hand at Alum.Yes you made a good Buy. I also bought it from Cyberweld, They are good people I live near Philly and they ship fast. Lots of luck with your New Welder. Tony

I am definitely getting a spool gun, just have to wait till I get some more nickles, and dimes. I am searching Craig's List for argon tanks. It is a pita that you can't get bigger tanks without paying through the nose with a lease. I am going to get a few extra tanks when I can. I don't get a lot of time to work on my projects so it would be nice to have a back up supply if I run out.

I have the older miller 210 and bought the spool gun, it sure is nice being able to go from steel to aluminum with out changing anything. . .other than opening a different bottle. Ive had my machine for 8 to 10 years now, and have not had any trouble with mine. i'm only a Hobiest so it doesn't get used much. Anther note when i bought mine i had the option to get the cart that would hold two bottles, that was a smart move. If they offer it for the new one i would look into getting it as well. Bolts on very easily. Good luck and enjoy your new toy.

Good advice. I bought a spool gun later for my MM210 and had to make my own setup, turns out I like it better than what Miller offered because it takes up less space. Picasa link here if you want to see it: https://picasaweb.google.com/kdeckster/MM210DualCylinderRack?authuser=0&feat=directlink

I've got a Lincoln 225 mig and while I love it the spool gun is just way too much money. If I had known that I would have bought Blue. A friend had one in his sprinkler shop (I think a 210) and it was a great machine to weld with.

I am thrilled with my 211. I've had no problem welding 3/8" mild steel on projects at 220V. Very easy machine to use, even when changing material thickness It makes a nice weld first time. My only complaint, although minor is the fan is a little loud. Pretty minor, otherwise does the job. Good luck and enjoy.

When I priced tanks a couple of months ago, the local welding gas supplier's tanks were actually the cheapest ones.

Getting a HH210 for $499 is cheap. The HH187 on sale is usually about $549 at TSC.

You know, I wanted to say something about my local welding shop. Even though it is 20 miles away, the prices for most consumables is much less than the big box stores. I bought an 11 pound roll of .035 gas wire for $26 dollars at All Gas welding supply. The price for the same size wire roll at both home centers was $42. Same with electrodes. When you consider that the guy at the welding shop knows about welding, it makes it worth my time to go up there.

You will be pleased with the 211...
Purchased mine just after the auto-set became available. I was optimistic about this feature but use it all the time. Do a lot of outside work so I use flux-core most of the time. Still have not had any reason to use this unit on 115v but maybe someday I'll be glad I spent the extra $$$ over the 180.
The Miller 211 and the Miller 375 plasma cutter make a great addition to my wana-be metal shop!
